The Challenge
Metro Trains Melbourne needed to upgrade all hardware and software supporting its live Siemens Train Control Management System (TCMS) environment. The refresh had to be executed with minimal operational impact, maintaining strict safety and availability requirements throughout, while managing the risks inherent in upgrading a live, safety-critical OT system.
The Solution
L2iQ was engaged to support the TCMS Hardware Refresh project, providing project management, specialist technical expertise across hardware and software upgrades, system integration and configuration, on-site commissioning, and documentation. All activities were planned and executed within MTM’s operational windows to ensure continuity of train control services during the refresh.
